An Appeal seeking donations for flood relief

Dear friends,
The recent flood fury unleashed a trail of death & destruction, havoc & horror in the hapless lives of countless people. Their hearths and homes, standing crops and livestock all washed away leaving them literally in lurch. Mind you “they” are not just faceless & cold Statistic or a mere number in a media report. “they” includes 50 year old Jammanna in Kalugotla village who lost all that little he has, 30 year old Chittemma of Menipadu village wailing over her misfortune of not being able to feed her daughter, 10 year young studious Maheswari frantically searching for her invaluable school books her daily-wage-laborer-mom bought with her hard-earned money. The suffering is huge and similar with many more such families who lost everything (to start with they had very little. Now even that very little is gone.) All of them are like you n me. Human beings. Unlike us. Poor and needy. Now their life is so full of agony & anguish that they envy the dead. Just imagine someone envying the dead. It z just plain horror!!

What can you, we do? Exclaim “Ayyo”, “Oh, no”, “poor things” followed by endless dubious debates over relief politics and other murky yet salacious subjects. Send a few thousand rupees and those old rags jus to suppress the guilt pangs and to feel self-righteous. Not enough. Just not enough. The tragedy’s trajectory extends well into the future, 24X7 for years in the lives of the flood- affected unlucky millions. We lucky minions can certainly make a positive difference. No need of parting with our fortunes. Just, allow a few peanuts to spill out of the bags-full that we have. The poor are so enterprising that they can toil and grow some more to make a meager income to sustain their simple lives. If you are a smart investor with a good Samaritan spirit invest A portion of your disposable income in human-capital building. We guarantee that all the investment will be e-credited (eternal, not jus electronic) into your Good-will account (PUNYA-Nidhi). You are muttering something! Oh, your budget planning may go hay-wire, gets disturbed. C’mon Sir, whole lives and life-supporting systems are disturbed, rather vanished there. Of course! The long-pending purchase of the swankier car will have to go on slow-track. The LED TV to replace the old one has to wait. The nex-gen smart fone to overthrow the x-gen fone can wait. Honestly they all can certainly wait without adversely affecting our sleep, food and shelter.
