JNNYC, understanding the magnitude of the havoc and devastation caused by the recent floods in AP and Karnataka, has chosen to be involved at all levels in providing assistance to those ravaged by the floods. JNNYC has adopted and covered the villages of Kalugotla and Minepadu totally and Pulluru village partially, of Manaopadu Mandal, Mahaboobnagar District, AP, in the first phase of the relief work. The relief work is being undertaken in three phases in these villages.
The first phase included the supply of Water, Rice, Dal, Oil, Tamarind, Salt, Chilly Powder, Eggs, biscuits as Food assistance and Utensils, Clothes, Blankets and Bed sheets as material assistance to those affected. Cooked food and water was supplied for the first few days, enabling them to asses and redeem any material that could be saved. All the material was carefully transported, stored and sorted before being supplied to those affected with the help of the village elders to ensure proper distribution.
In the second Phase JNNYC intends to provide assistance to the affected by providing means of sustaining themselves in the near future. In the Third phase JNNYC in partnership with a few corporate houses intends to build the infrastructure of these villages so as to make them model villages in the next two years.
